Most of Saskatchewan, Canada observes Central Standard Time year round. However, the Battle River area including the city of Lloydminster uses
Mountain Time and also observes daylight saving time. You can use the guide below to find current times in Saskatchewan.
Geographically most of Saskatchewan is in the Mountain Time Zone, however, in 1966 the
Saskatchewan Government passed The Time Act
which established Central Standard Time be used in eastern and northeastern Saskatchewan and that in the western portions of the province local municipal governments could establish which time zone to observe. Lloydminster is the only city that chose not to use Central Standard Time year round. This decision was in part due to the fact that Lloydminister is partly in Saskatchewan and part is in Alberta. Like Alberta, Lloydminister oberves daylight saving time.
In Lloydminster Canada Daylight Saving Time begins at 2:00 a.m. local time on the second Sunday in March. On the first Sunday in
November areas on Daylight Saving Time return to Standard Time at 2:00 a.m. During Daylight Saving Time turn your clocks ahead one hour. Areas of Saskatchewan not observing Daylight Saving Time do not change their clock.
